The main form of progression in Dragalia Lost is upgrading one's team so that a player can boost their stats to tackle higher and harder content. Since a team is comprised of several components (See Team Building), there are several different components a player must upgrade as well. The following is a rudimentary overview of how to upgrade these components.

Upgrading Adventurers[ | ]

Leveling[ | ]

Adventurers level up through two main methods:

Leveling up increases the player's HP and Strength, which in turn increases Might.

Promoting[ | ]

Players can promote lower rarity characters to higher level rarities. Promotion will not only increase the adventurer's HP and Str, but will also increase the adventurer's level cap and unlock higher Mana Circle floors.

The level cap based on adventurer rarity is as follows:

Rarity Level Cap
3 Icon Rarity 3 60
4 Icon Rarity 4 70
5 Icon Rarity 5 80

Promoting adventurers cost Eldwater. The Eldwater cost is as follows:

  • 3 Icon Rarity 3 -> 4 Icon Rarity 4 = 2,500 Eldwater
  • 4 Icon Rarity 4 -> 5 Icon Rarity 5 = 25,000 Eldwater

Mana Circles[ | ]

Another way to upgrade an adventurer is to purchase Mana Circle nodes with Mana and other materials. Each Mana Circle node has an improvement for the adventurer ranging from raw stat boosts to skill upgrades, all which improve Might. Every unit has up to 5 circles with 10 nodes in each circle for a total of 50 nodes. A few selected units have an additional 20 nodes in what is called the Mana Spiral, which can only be accessed after the first 50 nodes have been unlocked.

For more details on the specific upgrades each Mana Circle Node provides, check the specific adventurer pages.

Upgrading Weapons[ | ]

Leveling[ | ]

Weapons can be upgraded using Bronze Whetstones, Silver Whetstones, and Gold Whetstones. Other weapons can also be used to level up weapons.

  • Note that crafted weapons should not be used to increase EXP, only lower level rarity weapons dropped from quests. This is because crafted weapons can be dismantled at the Smithy for a fee, which will return all the materials the crafted weapon required.

Crafting[ | ]

Once the Smithy is unlocked, players can craft weapons to give adventurers. These weapons are much stronger than quest drop weapons, and also have the benefit of being able to be enhanced.

There are three rarities of crafted weapons; however, higher rarities require higher Smithy and Halidom levels in order to craft. Due to the sheer amount of time it will take to unlock higher rarity weapons, crafting lower level rarities is fine. However, if it appears you're nearing the unlock for the next tier of crafted weapons, and you have the materials needed to craft them, it might be a good idea to hold off on that rarity.

Unbinding[ | ]

Weapons have can be unbound up to 4 times, denoted by the empty diamonds when viewing them. At 4 unbinds (max unbound), any skill on the weapon is upgraded. Additionally, each unbind increases the level cap for weapons as follows:

Rarity 0 Unbind 1 Unbind 2 Unbind 3 Unbind 4 Unbind
2 Icon Rarity 2 10 15 20 25 30
3 Icon Rarity 3 20 25 30 35 40
4 Icon Rarity 4 50 55 60 65 70
5 Icon Rarity 5 80 85 90 95 100
6 Icon Rarity 6 100 125 150 175 200

Unbinding a weapon requires duplicates, and the level and unbinds of the weapon being consumed in unbinding are irrelevant. Players can also use Steel Bricks (4 Icon Rarity 4 Rarity only) and Damascus Ingots (5 Icon Rarity 5 Rarity only) to unbind weapons; however, due to the scarcity of these items, it is only recommended to use them on high rarity, high tier weapons.

Tiers and Enhancing[ | ]

Crafted weapons have multiple tiers to each weapon that can be viewed in the Crafting menu by clicking the "View Tree" button for the weapon. The Base weapon is referred to as Tier 1, and there can be up to two additional tiers up to Tier 3. The higher tiers can either be crafted directly from the weapon tree, or you can enhance an existing weapon in your inventory to the next higher tier. To enhance a weapon, it must be max unbound and max leveled in addition to having the required crafting materials for enhancing.

Crafting a higher tier weapon directly uses exactly equivalent rupies, materials, and whetstones for EXP as if you had crafted only base Tier 1 weapons and manually leveled and enhanced them.

Tier 2 Core weapons will have unique weapon skills on the weapon which will increase an adventurer's Might. Tier 3 Core weapons upgrade the skill and also gain an elemental type. When an elemental weapon is equipped with an adventurer of the same element, this will give the adventurer a 50% stat boost.

Rarity Weapon Recommendations[ | ]

  • For 3 Icon Rarity 3 rarity weapons, it is generally recommended to stick Tier 2 weapons until 4 Icon Rarity 4 rarity unlock due to the high cost of 3 Icon Rarity 3 elemental weapons and saving materials and rupies for 4 Icon Rarity 4.
  • For 4 Icon Rarity 4 rarity weapons, it is generally recommended to craft up to the Tier 3 elemental weapons due to the time and material gate it takes to unlock 5 Icon Rarity 5.

Upgrading Wyrmprints[ | ]

Leveling[ | ]

Wyrmprints can be leveled by using Holy Water, Blessed Water, and Consecrated Water to increase HP and Str of the Wyrmprint. Wyrmprints can be also be fed other Wyrmprints to level up.

  • Note that it is NOT recommended to use 3 Icon Rarity 3 rarity and above Wyrmprints as EXP. This is because when selling higher rarity Wyrmprints, Eldwater is one of the resources given and is the main resource used to promote adventurers. Eldwater is considered more valuable than the amount of Wyrmprint EXP offered.

Unbinding[ | ]

Wyrmprints have can be unbound up to 4 times, denoted by the empty diamonds when viewing them. Some Wyrmprints are given to the player already in a max unbound state, in which case all the diamonds will be filled in and shining. Each additional unbind increases the level cap of the wyrmprint and additionally:

  • At 2 unbinds: the abilities of the Wyrmprint are upgraded
  • At 4 unbinds (max unbound): the abilities of the Wyrmprint are upgraded further

The Wyrmprint unbind level caps are as follows:

Rarity 0 Unbind 1 Unbind 2 Unbind 3 Unbind 4 Unbind
2 Icon Rarity 2 10 15 20 25 30
3 Icon Rarity 3 20 30 40 50 60
4 Icon Rarity 4 30 40 50 65 80
5 Icon Rarity 5 40 55 70 85 100

Wyrmprints can be unbound with duplicate Wyrmprints, or by using Silver Keys (4 Icon Rarity 4 Wyrmprints only) or Golden Keys (5 Icon Rarity 5 Wyrmprints only).

Upgrading Dragons[ | ]

Leveling[ | ]

Dragons can be leveled by using Dragonfruit, Ripe Dragonfruit, and Succulent Dragonfruit. Dragons can also be given other dragons to increase level EXP as well.

  • Note that similar to Wyrmprints, it is NOT recommended to use 3 Icon Rarity 3 rarity and above Dragon as EXP. Because there are currently no Dragons below 3 Icon Rarity 3, it is recommended to only sell Dragons for the Eldwater return.

Unbinding[ | ]

Similar to Wyrmprints, dragons can also be unbound, which increases the dragon's level cap. At 4 unbinds (max unbound), the dragon's skill and abilities are upgraded.

The dragon unbind level caps are as follows:

Rarity 0 Unbind 1 Unbind 2 Unbind 3 Unbind 4 Unbind
3 Icon Rarity 3 20 30 40 50 60
4 Icon Rarity 4 30 40 50 65 80
5 Icon Rarity 5 40 55 70 85 100

Dragons can be unbound with duplicates or with Moonlight Stones (4 Icon Rarity 4 rarity only) or Sunlight Stones (5 Icon Rarity 5 rarity only).

Bonding[ | ]

From the Dragon's Roost, players can feed dragons daily to increase their bond level. This is beneficial in that:

  • The dragon will gift the player back materials such as Dragonfruits, Talonstones, and Orbs.
  • Increased bond level will increase dragon transformation duration for more damage gain in battle.
  • Every bond level is 10 Might.
  • Each Dragon's Story becomes available at Bond level 5 and 15. Reading each story grants you Wyrmite.

Upgrading Facilities[ | ]

Some facilities offer stat boosts which benefit a player's team, such as the Altars and Dojos. The material cost for facilities differs, so view each facility for more detailed material cost information.

Augments[ | ]

After clearing Chapter 9 in the story, adventurers, wyrmprints, weapons, and dragons can all have augments added to them from the respective Leveling menu, with each augment point increase the HP or Strength of it by +1, up to a maximum of +100 HP and +100 Strength for each. These total amount of these bonuses will be displayed as a "+<number>" in the portrait.

Adventurer and Wyrmprint HP (Fortifying Crystal, Fortifying Gemstone) and Strength (Amplifying Crystal, Amplifying Gemstone) augments can be obtained from the following sources:

  • Astral Raids
  • Astral Raids Treasure Trade
  • Specific Void Battles: all Manticores, and all difficulties of Zephyr, Poseidon, Agni, Jeanne, Nidhogg, and Volcanic Chimera
  • Standard and higher difficulties of Advanced Dragon Trials
  • Agito Uprising quests
  • Special Events
  • Certain chests on campaign story map after EX stages
  • First Clear rewards and Chapter completion endeavors for Very Hard campaign
  • Endeavor for completing Chapter 9 of the Normal campaign
  • The Mercurial Gauntlet endeavors

Dragon and Weapon augments can currently only be obtained as the reward from clearing Chapter 9 of the story on Normal, which gives 10x Fortifying Dragonscale and 10x Fortifying Jewel. There are no other sources of dragon or weapon augments.
