This village is under my protection! roared the dragon. "You fiends will rue the day you set foot and claw here, for this place you sought to conquer will instead become your eternal grave!"

She stopped her speech and looked over the battlefield, an old, sad smile on her face. "Some might mock me for going to such lengths for a mere promise...but it is a vow of great importance to me."

Long ago, I promised a human that I would protect this village. And while he no longer lives, the oath I took remains.
