Astral Raids is a recurring game mode where players can fight previously-released Raid Event bosses. Its primary rewards are Augments.
Astral Raids are only available to play on weekends, and only if a normal Raid Event is not occurring at the same time. Functionally, these battles work very similarly to regular raid boss battles.
Up to four players with four adventurers each (up to 16 adventurers in total) can battle together against raid bosses.
The rewards and number of astral pieces required to challenge the battle vary based on the difficulty.
Unlike regular raid boss battles, breaking boss parts will NOT have any effect on the rewards - the rewards are fixed and not subject to variation. However, breaking parts does still alter boss behavior and makes some attacks weaker or easier to avoid.
The element of the available raid boss will cycle in the following order: Wind -> Water -> Flame -> Shadow -> Light.
If there are at least 2 bosses available for a given element, the available boss will alternate each time that element is available. For example, if Phraeganoth is made available for Flame, then the next time Flame cycles around, he will be replaced by Barbary. The next time Flame is available after that will be Phraeganoth again, and so on.
There is usually a delay between when new raid bosses are introduced and when they are added to the Astral Raids schedule.
Astral Pieces
To challenge Astral Raids quests, the player will need to use Astral Pieces.
Astral Pieces are dropped from all quests except for The Mercurial Gauntlet, and are only available as drops when Astral Raids are not currently active.
The only way to get more astral pieces while Astral Raids is active is to purchase them from the shop during that time. Attempting to enter an Astral Raid with insufficient pieces will also prompt the shop menu.
A maximum of 300 Astral Pieces can be held. Any more pieces earned after that point are lost, however "capping out" like this happens often with regular play.
No stamina or wings are expended when playing an Astral Raid - only Astral Pieces.
The rewards and number of astral pieces required to challenge the battle vary based on the difficulty.
The player can spend astral pieces for multiple battles in a single go, allowing them to claim rewards for multiple raids in a single raid battle.
Example: If the player uses the number of astral pieces required for three battles, they will receive three times the rewards.
Rewards
Astral Raids drop rewards are fixed and do not have any random element. Amount and type of rewards will vary based on the difficulty, the boss's element, and sometimes the boss themselves (in the case of weapon materials and tablets).
Augments will either be only HP or only Strength each time that Astral Raids is made available, alternating each time. Augments are only available from Expert and Master difficulties
Astral Raids also drop Astral Shards, which can be exchanged in the Astral Raids Treasure Trade. The rewards available in this Treasure Trade reset each month.
10 each of adventurer HP, adventurer Strength, wyrmprint HP, and wyrmprint Strength augments are available to redeem each month.
Other rewards such as Imperial Onslaught Insignias and Tablets are also available, but are not nearly as valuable as the augments.
